The Westlund Center (TWC) operates in partnership with California State University, Northridge's (CSUN) Department of Social Work Practicum Education program and its internship requirements.
Second year interns are selected on an individual basis. Please see our FAQ for more information. Each intern receives a $10,000 stipend disbursed twice throughout the academic year. Under the direction of William Getz, DSW, LCSW, this unique internship program emphasizes leadership, openness to learning, and creative thinking, integrating Macro, Mezzo, and Micro Social Work best practices, grounded in universal clinical concepts.
This division is specific to CSUN Master of Social Work (MSW) applicants seeking supervised clinical hours. Only recent CSUN MSW graduates who are registered as Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASWs) will be eligible. Applicants will be screened, resumes reviewed, and clinical experiences evaluated by TWC clinical team members.
All clinical cases will be immediately reviewed by Dr. William Getz, the Executive Director, LCSW (2837). Immediate feedback will be available to the ASW, which will be transmitted directly to the TMH client. Following a tentative diagnosis and intervention plan, the ASW will have options: refer the client to a local community resource, provide additional follow-up sessions, or recommend long-term clinical service with an appropriate community resource.
