The Westlund Center (TWC) operates in partnership with California State University, Northridge's (CSUN) Department of Social Work Practicum Education program and its internship requirements.
Second year interns are selected on an individual basis. Please see our FAQ for more information. Each intern receives a $10,000 stipend disbursed twice throughout the academic year. Under the direction of William Getz, DSW, LCSW, this unique internship program emphasizes leadership, openness to learning, and creative thinking, integrating Macro, Mezzo, and Micro Social Work best practices, grounded in universal clinical concepts.

Elijah and Andrea interned at TWC for the 2023-2024 academic year. Their foundational research resulted in the first and second reports. Due to their efforts, they were awarded TWC Fellowships. Elijah is a paid consultant for TWC, and Andrea is the Assistant Administrator at TWC.

Constanza interned at TWC for the 2024–2025 academic year. She developed the Greater Northridge Community Questionnaire, which has been distributed through Qualtrics, an online survey and data collection platform. She was hired as a paid consultant for Summer 2025 to analyze the findings of the Greater Northridge Community Questionnaire.

Nohely is the current intern for the 2025-2026 academic year. She was hired as a paid consultant for Summer 2025 to analyze the findings of the Greater Northridge Community Questionnaire. Nohely is receiving foundational clinical training applicable at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels. Currently, she is developing the Tele-Mental Health program to launch late this year for a vulnerable population in the Greater Northridge Community.
